Great Wyrley Performing Arts High School is an ambitious, forward-thinking community secondary school. As a high performing specialist school we require our ICT provision to meet the high aspirations of our students, staff and parents. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technician who would work well in a busy and demanding environment.
The curriculum and administration network is 500+ workstations. The curriculum and administration networks are run by a cluster of servers currently running on server 2008 and 2003 with windows XP plus Windows 7 operating systems on the workstations.
In addition to the maintenance and support of the above the post will demand an excellent grasp of web based products. More and more Web 2 technologies are being used in education with the introduction of virtual learning environments and all the tools that they have available. The post will be primarily to support the application of these and other bespoke web based products designed in school.
It is likely that successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to sustain a high level of customer satisfaction
• Experience of working in an ICT environment
• Good practical ICT skills with underpinning knowledge and understanding
• Good time management and organisational skills
