Established for 35 years, Fleet Tutors is the largest nationwide tuition agency in the UK, providing tuition to private family clients as well as over 150 local authorities and children’s organisations. Due to increased demand from our private and public sector clients we are now seeking additional tutors to deliver tuition in private family homes, schools and local authority care settings throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Some of our current tutors are retired / former teachers or experienced tutors who may wish to work part-time during the school day, whilst others are teachers in local schools who work out of school hours with one or two students per week. Although a majority of tuition requests are for English, Maths and Science, opportunities are available for tutors of other cores subjects. It is desirable that applicants have teaching and/or tutoring experience in the UK; a working knowledge of the current National Curriculum and/or relevant examination board syllabus is essential. Our minimum criteria are that tutors are educated to a minimum of 2:1 degree level or hold a recognised UK teaching qualification such as QTS. If your degree was awarded by a non-UK university a NARIC conversion may be required. Tutors are only able to provide tuition in subjects in which they have a university degree or teaching qualification. If you wish to tutor students for school entrance examinations, current knowledge of the requirements of local selective or independent schools is essential. We require a minimum commitment of one year to ensure continuity of tuition for students. Fleet Tutors operates a highly selective vetting and screening procedure when recruiting new tutors to ensure that our clients and students are provided with one-to-one and small group tuition of the highest quality. Fleet Tutors is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and expects all tutors to share this commitment. It is a requirement that all tutors possess an enhanced CRB disclosure or an enhanced disclosure Scotland issued within the last 3 years.
