Starting 4th September 2012
You will work with and under the direction of the school??s Inclusion Manager to raise the achievement of EAL pupils through delivering intervention programmes matched to their specific needs. This will include welcome and induction programmes and initial assessments for new arrivals and mentoring pupils at risk of underachievement. Working with pupils may take place in or out of the classroom, with small groups or with pupils on a one to one basis.
After working with the Inclusion Manager to identify pupils and plan interventions, you would have responsibility for preparing EAL teaching materials, delivering a programme of support, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and reporting back to the Inclusion Manager.
The work would include general administrative duties such as record keeping, photocopying and will include the use of a computer.
